The Mumbai Salesians at Dominic Savio Andheri with 300 Alumni [Past Pupils] have completed a 01 month `Feed My Mumbai` outreach, creating a sustainable impact on communities affected by COVID-19 lockdown in Mumbai City. With the intent to ensure that no one sleeps hungry, Feed My Mumbai is part of the Feed My City campaign, through the KVN Foundation, that provides freshly cooked nutritious meals to the needy in 5 cities - Bangalore, Hyderabad, Noida, Chennai and Mumbai.

This COVID-19 Food distribution is in coordination with the neighbouring Canossian Daughters of Charity-Servants of the Poor [FDCC-Canossian Nuns], volunteers and other good samaritans. Even as 70% of India`s workforce dependent on daily wages, are at this moment of lockdown, without any source of livelihood, daily income and with families to feed, Feed My Mumbai is providing nourishment to these countless stranded in Mumbai. Anthony Mascarenhas-President, Dominic Savio Andheri Past Pupils Association, says, ``Thanks to the Salesians who are with us not only with prayer-support but also in the daily distribution of food hampers. KVN, Crisil & Annamrita Foundation provide 11,000 cooked meals daily. CSR Partners - Tracelink, Bhavyata Foundation help out in the foodgrain hamper distribution drives. Few other Corporate houses are whole-heartedly contributing to this noble cause, but wish to remain anonymous donors. 300 Past Pupils and volunteers are handling spread (meals & food grain distribution) across Mumbai. On 30 April, we will cross 02-lakh cooked meals distribution across Mumbai.`` Mascarenhas further adds, ``By 15 May 2020, we hope to reach out to 75,000 more people in Mumbai City via our food grain hamper drives, thanks to our anonymous corporate donors, including our ongoing drive.`` Father BRian Moras-Rector Dominic Savio Andheri says, ``this is a small measure of our contribution to the suffering stranded, networking with our Past Pupils and volunteers, through generous and large-hearted sponsors.``
